Our body sensation is the result of interaction between mind and body. Our bodies are like memory chips that hold our past memories, including those of unpleasant past mental or physical traumas. As we are embroiled in daily chores and responsibilities, our mind and body can gradually become out of balance, less synchronized. Blockages or spots lacking nourishment due to neglect, insufficient awareness and care, would start to appear and manifest in various painful physical symptoms. This is because the natural flows of energy pathways or channels become congested and stagnant, just like highways traffic during rash hours. Some areas become inflamed due to built up of stagnant energy, while others areas are growing weak due to insufficient nourishment.
At Origin Acupuncture and Wellness, treatment plan is customized to help each patient to relax by stimulating natural flow of energy in their proper channels and entering into a more harmonious state of mind and body. In this more harmonious and balanced state, the patient's natural healing ability and self-generation is enhanced or re-activated.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through skin at strategic points on your body. Acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force that flows through pathways (meridians) in body.
Cupping Massage
Cupping involves placing sterilized cups on skin. Negative pressure is created in the cup either by attaching a suction device to the cup. A suction force inside the cup pulls the skin upward and draws fluid into the treated area. This suction force expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels (capillaries) under the skin. The body replenishes the cupped areas with healthier blood flow and stimulates proper and normal healing at a cellular level, thereby releasing toxins.
Warm Gua-Sha
Warm Gua-Sha is a slight variation from regular Gua-Sha. A smooth ceramic cup-shape Gua-Sha tool with built in infrared heating device is used to stroke your skin while applying gentle pressure. Sometimes small red rash-like dots may show from under the skin after a Gua-Sha treatment as result of increased blood flow in treatment area. This process helps to lessen toxins in your body and promote healing.
